There are many pieces of synthetic or lab created alexandrite in existence. Synthetic or lab created alexandrite will look pink or blue in bright lights, while having a purple color in subdued lighting conditions. Check the stone in your alexandrite ring carefully. If it contains numerous bubbles or has a dirty, dull layer inside it, it could be a piece of synthetic or lab grown alexandrite. Natural Russian alexandrite is a name given to alexandrite that has been lab created in Russia.
