A member of the beryl family of gem stones, morganite is sometimes referred to as pink emerald. The beryl family also consists of aquamarine, heliodor, goshenite, emerald, and bixbite. While not as rare as emerald or bixbite, morganite is still just as popular of a choice to be used in jewelry settings. Morganite is a very durable stone, making it a wonderful accent to any jewelry piece. It rates about an eight on the Moh’s scale, compared to a diamond’s rating of ten. Because of the strength of the gem, morganite rings can be worn in conjunction with just about any physical activity in which you desire to take part.
